Over 40 girls and boys turned out for the first of several planned try lacrosse clinics in fall of 2017. Sponsored by Silverfin Lacrosse LLC, the premier boys and girls lacrosse training outfit in Los Angeles, the clinic featured free loaner gear for all participants.
“The loaner gear is so valuable for the kids to try the sport at full speed” said Dave Bakos, parent of a U11 aged boys player from Newbury Park.
“There is no better recruiting tool than a truck that pulls up with 60 sets of loaner equipment on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Southern California” said Patrick Smith, president of Newbury Park Youth Lacrosse. “This is our main recruiting platform for the spring season. Once the kids try the sport at full speed, they are always hooked. It’s exciting to watch” commented Smith.
Our next try lacrosse clinic happens at Peppertree Park on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017. All participants must register in advance.
