Instructional Camp at Cal Lutheran University

Boys and Girls Instructional Camp – June 17-20, 2019

Silverfin Lacrosse presents the most high level lacrosse experience ever seen in Northern Los Angeles! Four Men’s Division-1 and Division-3 coaches will be on staff for this high end training event!


Packaged as part of our elite team experience or attended individually, our Cal Lutheran Camp features something for players of all ability levels. Receive training from major Division-1 and Division-3 coaches at one of the finest training facilities on the west coast!  A camp of this magnitude has not been seen in Los Angeles for youth players until now.

Our training process involves copious amounts of balls which means hundreds of reps every day. Touches are everything to the developing player. Our instructional camp experience is efficient, proven, and effective for players of all ability levels.

Cost: $350 Day Campers, $695 Overnight Campers

Ryan Danehy – Assistant Coach, Bucknell University

Danehy brings 15 years of experience as a coach at every level: he spent eight years as a coach at Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan.  In June 2017 Danehy was named the President and Chairman of the Turkey Lacrosse Association, coaching the Turkish national team at the 2018 FIL World Field Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel.

Because of his extensive experience from all points of the lacrosse spectrum, Danehy is widely considered a leading expert on the lacrosse collegiate recruiting process.

Jimmy Ryan – Assistant Coach, Rutgers University

Jimmy is in his first year as assistant coach at Rutgers University where he works with the goalkeepers and face-off specialists. Prior to Rutgers he was the offensive coordinator at Western New England College where the team scored 184 goals in 18 games with a 7-1 in conference record in 2018.

Ryan was a four year letter winner at Ithaca College where he was team captain in 2015 and played in the annual North-South senior All-Star game.

Doug Dwyer – Assistant Coach, U. S. Merchant Marine Academy

Doug Dwyer just started his 16th season as an assistant coach with the United States Merchant Marine Academy lacrosse program. He works as the offensive coordinator of the team and most recently helped guide the club to its best season in Academy history with a school record 13 wins and the program’s first bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to USMMA, Dwyer coached the Garden City High School Trojans boy’s lacrosse team between 1984-2003. During his tenure the Trojans compiled a record of 379-35 which included 11 Nassau County, 10 Long Island and four New York State Championships (1986, 1994, 1997 and 2000). He also founded the Garden City Lacrosse Alumni Association in 2000.

The native of Hicksville earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education at Southern Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in sports management from Adelphi University in 1987.

Kenny Broschart – Assistant Coach, High Point University

Broschart, who came to HPU after a 10-year stint at Michigan, works directly with the face-off unit while assisting with the team’s defense and man-down unit. His impact was immediately felt as the Panthers’ face-off unit went from a 33.9 in 2017 to a 50.8 win percentage in his first season in 2018.

Broschart came to the Triad after spending a decade in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the University of Michigan. He became the defensive coordinator as the program transitioned to NCAA competition in 2011. Similarly, while running all aspects of the defensive strategy and scouting, Broschart served as the program’s recruiting coordinator.

The New York Institute of Technology graduate broke into the coaching ranks as a graduate assistant in charge of New York Tech’s defense. That season the Bears posted a 13-1 record and claimed the NCAA Division II national title.

Before joining the New York Tech staff, Broschart was a three-time USILA All-America defenseman from 1997-2001. During his playing career, the Bears posted an impressive 40-12 record.

  • 7:30AM-8:30AM: Breakfast
  • 9:00AM-11:00AM: Session 1
  • 9:00AM: Warm up, stretch, skill work
  • 9:45AM: Stick work. (stick, helmet and gloves)
  • 10:00AM: Skills work, positional training
  • 10:30AM: Games (i.e small games, 3 on 3, broken)
  • 11:30AM-12:30PM: Lunch
  • 1:00PM-3:30PM: Afternoon session & games
  • 5:00PM-5:45PM: Dinner
  • 6:00PM-7:15PM: Night games on fields (Full field games, and 3X)
  • 7:30PM-9:30PM: Pizza and movies at dorms, camp store open
  • 10:00PM: Lights Out
